HOW IS YOUTH AND CHILDREN PROTECTION GUARANTEED AND PROMOTED?

The interest, safety, equality and respect for the child are the key principles of this project, so partners shared and signed a common policy framework and rules, that all employees, consultants, volunteer and professionals working directly with students and school staff are obliged to respect. In particular, we point out the following documents and policy:

1) ActionAid’s “Child protection policy“, which regulates the position regarding the protection of all children and adolescents with whom we comes into contact during our work and projects. ActionAid considers as top priorities: 1) The best interests and safety of the child; 2) Equality and non-discrimination; 3) Freedom of expression; 4) Respect for the opinion of the child in all matters that concern him/her; 4) Active children participation.

2) An operational breakdown of the POLICY: each project activity that directly or indirectly involves minors has been analysed in relation to the principles of the Child protection policy to ensure an operational compliance. In particular, the document explains:

– The role (And boundaries) of educators and facilitators working in the classroom and the principles or procedures that need to be respected;

– Existing procedures and rules in schools, in particular in case of violence situations to be reported to the school, families or authorities;

– Tips for an inclusive and non-discriminatory language use.

 The final internal document agreed with the partners and in line with the European Union policy will be available upon request from September 2019.

 3) The document “Information to be provided and authorisation for dissemination of images, sounds and testimonies” drawn up in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
